Long term Project Ideas

I'm going to incorporate photographs of cats from the internet, and photographs of my own cat companions along with quotes based on the superior feline race. There will be cats in soft colors, effortlessly sleeping cats, pouncing cats, celebrities with cats, anti-dog quotes,  all working together to promote cats. Long term love of cats for my long term project.

Birds-Eye View
This photogtaph gives off an almost drifted, or sad presence.
She is sitting alone on the step seeming to be contemplating something.
Birds-Eye is a neat view, because it looks down on the object/person
being photographed. Birds Eye reminds me of looking down at a city
from a tall building; you see what you do not normally.

Framing by Objects

Worms-Eye View
I used Haylee as a model. This picture has a real satisfying Spring vibe, with
her laughter and the sun behind her. I used rules of thirds and worms eye.
Worms-eye is a pretty cool angle, specifically because it gives off a sort of
powering presence, as if looking up at an eagle soaring in the sky.

My Issue

My cause is Animal Experimentation, though generic I believe it’s a very significant ignorance of our humanity that needs to be left in our bloody past. I support only cruelty-free organizations and get very frustrated when my friends throw snickering comments like, "Animal tested mascara... oh poor animals with huge eyelashes." The reality for animals in laboratories is barbaric, pain-infused, and death inhabiting. Animal
tests have been again and again proven irrelevant to humans and scientists have studied humane, adequate alternatives, yet animals are still suffering through it on a daily basis.

This is an amazing show from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)
“Testing…One, Two, Three” is a film which convinced me to go forward with this cause.

Shaping Ideas Notes

Shaping an idea / concept

Stage 1

Collect and Select

Use images and words or phrases to determine an idea, theme

Collect – open mind – subconscious

  1. Select – edit – three grouping – general ideas
  2. Revisit – Collect – add to collections
  3. Verbalize – add words to each collection

Stage 2

Develop the idea / mood

Using colour, texture, patterns, lines and brushes

  1. Use three colours to create a colour scheme
  2. Determine the mood of colours dark /light, bright/subdue etc.
  3. Lines determine sight lines – static dynamic
  4. Textures, patterns, brushes help to create rhythm

Profile!

1. Previous Experience
-Software?
-Projects?
-Examples?

I don't have much experience with graphic designs. My dad used to own a motocross t-shirt design company when I was younger and I was always interested in it. My sister, Sarah Bradshaw, is into photography and took this course grades 10 through 12. I've used her photoshop elements before just to critique photos with contrast and such.

2. Areas of Interest
-What do I want to learn?

I would really like to learn how to spotlight edit and focus on certain aspects in a photo. Also, how to keep only one color existing.

3. Interest Areas Are?

I'm really into music, and hope to one day be a part of an indie record label. Over Spring Break, I'm taking a digital boot camp at Centre for Arts and Technology. I'm also a fan of animal activism through Peta, as I'm a vegetarian and have been for 7 years. I love Independent, Foreign, and Experimental films. David Lynch is my favourite Filmmaker.
